Drake's Apartment, The Westend, Landing, Imperius
The apartment of Drake Danger sits halfway up the Sunset Tower, and is made up of three rooms plus a kitchenette and bathroom. There is a living room with a beat-up leather couch in front of the InfoSphere terminal, and a wide window looking out over the Westend. There's a small, padded bench beneath the window and the walls are covered in posters from old rock shows. What was once the second bedroom has been fitted with sound-absorbent panels on the walls, and is filled with speakers, amps, a couple of guitars, and a very basic drum set. The actual bedroom is simple, with a closet, dresser, and a low queen-sized bed. Pictures rest on top of shelves and the dresser, each one showing Drake — ranging from early teens to the present — with a famous musician.

Drake is clearly not living alone. Dishes have been used in pairs, there's another towel in the bathroom, assorted cosmetics and the like — the signs of cohabitation. Then again, that probably shouldn't be a major surprise to bandmates, considering how often the rocker has been seen in the presence of Letha Vallas. He's decided to address the next step to the band a part at a time, so he only commed Roxy and Zani for now, saying he'd like to chat about the band, and did they have time to drop on by? And now he's sprawled easily on the couch, watching the replay of a tourney from a couple of years ago. Cans of soda are scattered on the coffee table before the couch, and the door unlocked.'

It's a short trip for Zani, since she's got an apartment in the same complex. She puts on a casual dress over tights, and heads over to find out what the Double D has in mind this time. She knocks on the door, then opens it and peeks in, making sure the path is still clear before she steps in. "Hey Drake. What's up?" she asks. Surprised to see double dishes? Nah, not really. Amused more likely. "Did you want me to bring the keyboard? I left it, figuring I could grab it fast enough if we need."
<Newbie> Hans has just created a character! Welcome to The Fifth World: They Will Return!

Arriving a little later, by only a few moments hopefully, Roxy gently raps on the door and opens it, stepping in apparently right behind Zani. She wears an easy smile and her usual concoction of some mix of black, white, hot pink and neon green. Once inside, she closes the door gently behind her and heads further in. "Hey you guys." Her smile widening as she approaches and sees the obvious signs of cohabitation. Overhearing Zani, she winks. "I definitely didn't bring the drums."

Drake beckons the women in as they show, laughing easily and reaching for his comm to shut down the screen, "Naw. I'da asked the others over if I wanted to Jjam. " And then he thinks a moment, "Huh… I haven't ever had you over, Rox? Well shit, lemme give you the dollar tour." Prying himself out of the couch, he gestures to the soda, "Grab a drink. This is the living room, and the kitchen," he points the short distance away, chuckling easily. For the frontman of a band with two albums on the charts, his apartment is relatively simple. Stepping past, he moves down the little hallway, pointing out the other rooms, "Bathroom, bedroom, studio." That was obviously the main bedroom for whoever lived here before Drake, given how much bigger it is, with its electronics, drums, guitars, and mics.

Zani peeks, and then she laughs. "Oh, so we don't have to bring them, you've got it covered," she says, hands finding her hips for a moment. She checks out the soda that's up and available, then picks one, almost randomly. "Thanks. Hey, Roxy." She hesitates, but keeps her mouth shut for the moment. "So, not a jam, but you wanna talk about the band? Are you going solo?" she asks, half teasing. Well, you never know, though Zani doesn't /think/ that's what's on Drake's mind.

At the offer, Roxy follows along looking at his apartment and wearing a contemplative expression all the while. "Is it fairly peaceful living here? I mean no robberies or anything? Privacy and all? I'm looking into a place of my own, been staying with a friend of mine but I'm outgrowing her sofa." Her lips quirk in a crooked smile when she sees the studio. "Wow, nice studio there." Her attention goes to Zani and she studies her. "Looks like we have a Matthew Warriner in common."

Drake shakes his head at Roxy's question, "Naw, no problems. There's a Watchhouse just down the street, and security's pretty good up here." As opposed to the lower floors, although he's not rich or snobby enough to say that. Leading the way back to the living room, he plops back down onto his sofa, gesturing around for the ladies to grab a seat there, on the window-bench, or wherever. Zani's question causes him to pause halfway through a sip of his soda, nearly spraying it around, "Oh shit no. Sorry, didn't mean to freak you out. Nothin' like that." But he demurs from saying more as the question of the other musician in common, one eyebrow arching up as he lets the ladies discuss.

Zani grins at Drake's answer, giving a mock "Whew!" and wiping fake sweat off her forehead. "Good, glad to hear that. And - " Now she turns to Roxy, with a sympathetic look. "I heard. Is it true?" She pauses and then flops into a comfy seat, easily. "Matt Warriner is my half brother, turns out. Seems his dad and my mother had a fling way back when." She shrugs, not quite so bothered by it as she was previously. "I think he's got the harder bit there, since Mom was single at the time. Any way, we did get tests done - not that I didn't believe my Mom, but it kind of freaked us out. True facts." Then she looks over at Roxy, curiously.

Tucking that bit of information away for another time, Roxy follows over to where Drake directs her to have a seat. She seems comfortable and at ease there, kicking out her feet and relaxing. The question addressed by Zani gets a snicker from her and she gives the keyboardist an understanding look. "Yeah, well we think so, we had a DNA test to make sure and we gotta wait for the results, but the timing and stuff… yeah seems like he's my um.. father. It's crazy finding out so much later you have family you never knew about. And Matther Warriner?" Waving it off, she grins. "We can talk about that a little later if you want." With directness, she looks back at Drake. "So, what's up?"

Drake looks between the two women, his eyebrows rising further, "So… that makes you," he points at Zani, "your" Roxy, "aunt. Or half-aunt. Huh. Too fuckin' funny." He takes another pull of his soda, then settles back into the corner of the couch. At Roxy's prompting, he nods, "H.A.G. I got an earful a while ago from Letha about why we weren't in it. I mean, it doesn't really seem very rock an' roll to be in a union," since that's what it is, when you get right down to it, "But she made some good points. Whatcha all think about joining?"

That gets a peal of laughter from Zani. "Wait, I don't even know which of is older," she says, amused and confuddled. "When's your birthday, Rox?" And then Drake gets down to business and she tilts her head. "Doesn't seem very rock and roll to be living in a reasonable apartment like this either," she observes lightly. "But we do. I think - there are definitely some good points to it. HOw much of a killer is it to join? I mean, do they want our - " a glance over at Roxy, "first born children or something?"

"Half Aunt, haha.." Roxy hadn't put it together like that before. "My birthday is February 17 or so my mother tells me. Who knows what to believe from her now." Rolling her eyes, she doesn't linger on that drama any more. "I don't mind joining the Guild. What are the benefits and what are the cons? If it benefits the band as a whole, I say go for it. I'll even give up my firstborn." Teasing along with Zani now.

Drake chuckles at Zani, although the last point causes him to point at the keyboardist, "Oh hell no. First Born Children really aren't rock and roll." That settled, he shrugs, "Four hundred bucks a year, and we get discounts on tickets, some clothes, access to the Hall in Phylon. Really it's just the connections though." He chuckles softly, shrugging and taking another pull of his soda, "And health insurance and that sorta shit, but that's really not rock and roll."

"June 3rd. Wait, am I younger than you are?" Zani just stares for a long moment. "Wild. Your half aunt is younger than you are, Roxy." Zani laughs, and then she pops open her soda, listening to Drake. She chuckles and says, "So don't use it? uhm, what happens if it gets out that HIIK are card carrying members? Since it's not rock and roll - would it break our rep and cause us to tank?"

"Younger, yep." Roxy finds that amusing too, chuckling in response. "By a few months, cause I'm twenty, be twenty one in February." Resting her elbows on her knees, she cups her face in her hands and grins. "So, I don't mind joining it. It's all like, whatever, I guess. I don't care about insurance or lower tickets. Access to the hall would be kinda cool for the next album release and connections would be awesome."

Drake chuckles at the age comparisons, waving a hand and snorting teasingly, "Babies. All of you." Because he's all of 23. Scrubbing a hand back through his hair to pull it out of his face, he nods at the concerns being raised, "I dunno, Zani. Hell, that's what had me squirmin' in the first place. I mean, it's all good for someone like Letha or Jane, who…" and then he thinks, and chuckles to himself, "Well, I was gonna say that they have a more goody-two-shoes image to maintain, then I remembered how I met Jane. Serious. Fuckin'. Party Girl. And she's President and she gets work. I think we'd be solid." He nods to Roxy, "And yeah, I bet it'd be easier to work with other artists and producers and stuff if they were HAG members too."

"That's reason enough to join right there," Zani says. "Cause getting work and being able to play more rock and roll - that's solid." She shrugs, shaking her head at the age thing. Too fucking funny. "But yeah, I'm cool with it. I take it you're gonna check with the others separately too?" She kicks one foot lightly, as she relaxes and has some more of her soda. "Do we sign up as a band or separately? Or does that matter?" Huh, things she hasn't thought about yet.

Once there seems to be a semi-agreement on the HAG, Roxy ponders a moment. "Are we going to do any tours or live shows for promoting Vengeance?" Though Zani had voiced a real good question and she turns her attention back to Drake to answer it. "I think I'll lease an apartment here too, be nice to be near you all. Make getting together for practice better too." Another thought strikes her then. "Oh, I loved the acoustic number you did at the release party."

Drake nods at Zani, "Just figured it'd be easier to have a couple of little meetings rather than all gettin' together. We kinda tend to… uh… ramble… when we're all together." Plus, there's usually booze of some sort. He shrugs at Zani's question, "Hell if I know." A grin dimples his cheeks, and then he continues, "I'll toss a group app, if you'll flag the funds to go on through. If Jane wants apps from the rest of you, she can let me know." Roxy's question draws a sharp nod, "Yeah… Higgins," the business manager for the band, "is bookin' the shows. Mostly around Landing, but a couple in each Paramount." The last point causes him to shift a little in his seat, shrugging helplessly and teasing a lock of hair back from his face, "Yeah. Just somethin' I… uh… put together. Just sorta… came to me."

"That was awesome, Drake. I like it. We should maybe do one or two of those on each album. If we can." A shrug and then, "I'll flag the funds, sure. And if there's any fuss, let us know and we can adjust. We're good at that - changing on the fly, right? It's rock and roll." She sets her soda down and then says, "Did you want to do more acoustic stuff? We could - though - we might need an alias for that. So we don't break folks who try to put two and two together." Doesn't seem she has a problem with it, but then, she's got a good musical education all the way round. Even maybe some of that classical stuff.

"I'm so glad you guys allowed me into the band. Bein' part of HIIK is unreal." Roxy sits back up and tugs at a loose thread on her tulle skirt, watching it unwind around her finger. "I liked the acoustic song and I wouldn't mind doing another one or two." Her grin to Drake is knowing.. yeah she's pretty sure why he wrote it. The same reason there's two of everything in the apartment.
pose will neither confirm nor deny Roxy's suspicions. He does, however, nod to Zani, "I was thinkin', lookin' at how the Cindravales were practically flinching at the noise, that we might be able to get some noble gigs if we did some accoustic stuff." Shrugging slightly, he adds, "Based on how people were reactin' to it though, I think so long as it's not boring, weak-ass-shit, we won't have a problem rebranding." He shrugs again at Roxy, "And hey… you more than held up your side of things, Rox."
