Background

Born first, Ryan is the eldest child of Lady Sir Adanta Arboren and Lord Jean-Claude Volen. He has his father's features, strong build with light dirty blond hair and blue-green eyes. As a child, he constantly talked, no matter who did or didn't listen. Ryan leaned to speak and then never shut up, as his father constantly joked. His sister was always his best friend… even when he'd annoy her or she him. Their intangible bond kept them together beyond the bounds of momentary differences.
As he grew into his boyhood, twin knights from the House Peake were asked to squire the young twins together. While Chandra's knight was gruff and suited to her, Ryan's was suited to him. The gruff of the knight's twin was replaced with stoic calm and few words. Ryan's need to chatter was endured with expressionless eyes, all the while being taught how to use bow and arrow and crossbow and bolt. Ryan got his good looks from his father, and his great skills from his mother. He excelled at the use of ranged weapons and quickly developed a love of the crossbow. Ryan's knight was also medically trained, and sought to instruct him as well as bring on tutors for the boy squire. Where Chandra excelled at hunting and survival of the outdoors, Ryan shined through on his ability to learn many things to some degree or another. He was able to acquire skills quickly though he didn't master any save one, archery.
Ryan's constant talking has often lead to him missing subtler things. Hints and suggestions from females who could have been potential for the handsome outgoing young man. Burgeoning from boyhood into manhood meant that Ryan's thoughts about women changed from icky to sexy almost overnight, and he started to notice that his sister was something to be desired by most other guys. The brother in him instantly took over and he began to actively work to scare off those would-be boyfriends. While on the flip side, Ryan was simply oblivious to the looks, hints, and suggestive touches young women laid on him.
At the age of 18 Ryan and his sister take part in a mission to help rescue a senator taken hostage by a mercenary group. They and their twin knights are able to take out the guards and both of the squires, ordered to escort him to safety, work in their typical tag team that eventually culminates in the return of the Senator to house Arboren and their knights informing them of their knighting. Years of hard work finally paying off, Ryan was knighted and sworn into the house of his mother along with his sister. From there, she and he worked hard fighting in various skirmishes on loan from the paramount. Ryan's penchant for single shot take downs earned him the byname Double-tap as a joke.
The death of his parents had affected Ryan in a peculiar way. His sister was torn apart by it, but the incesant talker that Ryan is, lead to his dealing with the pain by simply expressing his emotions. Even if they were to himself. If ever asked directly why he talks to himself, his answer is simply that he feels as though there was someone listening to him, even if there isn't a response to his words, it just feels as though someone were hearing him speak.
After knighting at 18 Ryan spent time, along with his sister, working with the house military. Most of their days were filled with drills and training in preparation of the return of the hostiles and the fifth. Ryan and Chandra continued to hone their teamwork as they spent their days practicing side by side with the soldiers of house Arboren. In the off hours, Ryan would encourage his sister to break out of her shell and drag her along to participate in small plays. To convince her to at least be Generic Tree #5, Ryan picked up the various crafting know how to make costumes. When the twins took time for just themselves, Ryan would treat them with sailing on the ocean's of their father's home moon. And for just himself, Ryan spends his alone time painting. He uses mostly watercolors to capture the still life imagery of a scene all the while telling himself a story that takes place there.

Characteristics

Temperament

Ryan's pretty Looney Tunes, Peanut Butter and Jelly with Chocolate milk when in his natural element. A full grown man, when espied alone he could be mistaken for much younger. He's oblivious to a lot of things, primarily female interests in him. Often things like flirting, intimidation, and sarcasm are completely missed. He is by no means ditzy, or 'out of it', he is simply oblivious to the other person's intent when it comes to such things. He's a very literal person in that respect, forward say what you mean is the best way to get through to him.
However, when it deals with his sister Chandra, Ryan could be in his mid thirties and the most serious person around. Not to her directly, but to anyone speaking with her or spending time with her. While rarely does he become this way, due in large part to Chandra's shyness, Ryan does have the potential to 'just grow up' when the moment calls for it. Recently he's been more mature around other people, partly due to his service in the war.

Description

Five foot eleven, Ryan is highly toned and defined for a male. His arms and neck are rippled with muscular toning and shirtless shows his chest and abs to be the same way. His skin tight, so that each movement displays the complex shifting of muscle beneath. A small waist but powerful legs complete this short dark blonde haired man with blue-green eyes.

A casual long tunic with frog closures up the front, this off-white cream with pastel light green embroidery shirt has a tall collar, long sleeves with cuffs, and is tailored to his form. Casual trousers cut in a straight pant style, they fold over the belt into a stylized faux skirt. A soft pastel brown with cream embroidery, and made to tuck into or fit over boots. Military cut knee high boots made of synthetics. The insole and outsole designed to reduce as much noise as possible. The ankle, sole, and toe are reinforced with compacted steel plating to provide protection. The zip on the side allows for the boot to be laced up, but easy on and easy off.

Lady Sir Chandra Arboren Chandycandy : My Twin sister, closest friend and half of the whole that we create. I love her beyond all things. There are moments when we are sitting back to back, it's been two hours, and it's like I know what she's thinking without either of us talking. We can't go for even a day on different planets, which is actually a relief because it used to be continents and before that cities… before that rooms in the same house. It doesn't matter to me, I've always liked being by my sister and will always be by her side. We might not spend much time going on the same patrols or doing the same things right now, but then we are our own person.

Lady Kelesandra Arboren KelesBells : Second cousin, we've practically grown up together and I feel close to her. She's the only other person I'm close to after Chandra. I fear she may hate me now though. I haven't seen or heard from her, but I did find out that she's gone on to focus on her studies and that though she doesn't hate me, she doesn't have as much time to spend with my sister and I as she'd like to. I do miss her greatly, I cannot wait until I can see her again.

Lady Sir Brienne Arboren BriTree : She is my cousin. She's messed up a lot, and while I'll be there if she needs to talk I feel as though perhaps we've drifted apart.

Young Lord Declan Arboren DecTech : He's my cousin! He and Britree are at least getting along a lot better these days. Don't really spend much time with him, so there's not a whole lot to say about him. He's a busy man being the heir, and I'm a busy man being in demand on the field a lot. When we do see each other, we're cousins and we didn't sleep with the same woman so it's like normal family I suppose.

Lord Tristan Arboren TristMist : He's awefully quiet, like Chandycandy is. Put them in the same room and you could hear the Six breathing.

Sauveur

Lady Drucilla Sauveur : She's… well, she's more forward than any girl or woman I've ever met. I really like her, she's amazingly smart and pretty. She tells me stories, and she's a great kisser! So, yeah… I wrote the letter, crossing my fingers. And since then I've not heard from her, nor have I seen her. I hope all is well for her, and I do miss her company.

Lord Sir Advent Sauveur : So, after all that went down at the Palace the one night he walks in on me leaving Dru's apartments… I later find him around Arborenin. Didn't know why until I heard that he was trying to court Britree… probably wrong one to bark up. Not two months later I find him in the guest room and he's slightly bleeding from some stitches on his head. Turns out he'd followed Britree and Dectech along back home, so I did what I've been trained to do and got him to consent to treatment. Thankfully his family showed up to claim him, I can't imagine the hubbub if I'd shown up with him.

Lady Lyrienne Orelle nee Sauveur : Met her a few times over several years, back when she was staying in Arboren and hanging out my cousin. Just re-met her same night as Lord Sir Advent. She's sweet, talks like mom used to. I'd say she's a cat person, but then she's got all those kids already. Plus with more on the way… not sure how well a cat would fit in, might vie for attention and get mean.

Lady Kiara Sauveur : Met her twice now, first time she played the citar and then told me a story about knights. Second time she was just passing through with some nice looking old book. She's nice, a bit pushy when it comes to admitting things that aren't true, but otherwise I like her much as I like the rest of her siblings with Dru being liked more of course. She should get a rabbit, maybe.

Lord Ellisaire Taryn Sauveur : Met him same night as Advent, Lyrienne, and Kiara. He's their cousin, like I'm a cousin to Kelesandra or Brienne and Tristan. He's quietish, and when he talks he sounds funny. It's like he didn't grow up Sauveur, cause he's super polite like a citizen would be. He's got that fox like animal, cute little thing.

Dalton

Lady Evey Dalton : She's a charming women that I've run into a few times. Made her a hair bow and once helped her out of the woods when she'd gotten lost. We need to put up signs to warn people about getting lost out there, like the third or fourth time I've run into someone who's lost.
