Gardens of Erkwin - Landing, Imperius
While the Arborenin may like their greenery wild and lush, the Gardens of Erkwin are carefully and precisely manicured, even if they are no less green for all the attention they have received at the clippers of gardening drones. Broad expanses of grass are trimmed to exactly the same height, grown to exactly the same verdant shade. Hedges are neatly clipped back into exacting shapes. Some form mythical creatures, others living statues of famous historical figures, and one section even rises in geometric patterns to create a hedge maze. Between the hedges and lining paths of crushed gravel are beds full of flowers from all over Imperius — and before that, from all over Old Earth.

As beautiful as the gardens are, however, all of the paths lead through them toward the stadium on the water's edge. A final parade of flags draws the attention of most onlookers up toward the bulbous blue shape of the stadium's half-roof, which is lit from within by the glow of the lights when a tournament is taking place or a soccer game being played.

Taking a quick break from the chaos closer to home, Densoric decides to indulge in a bit of nostalgia. The tall nobleman dressed in the dark turquoise and cyan of his House idly strolls along the paths of the gardens surrounding the tournament grounds, the stadium itself pretty much completely ignored.

The gardens, as lovely as they are, are not what draws Taryn. The young man is wearing a pair of course brown leather pants. The white shirt - notably an under tunic - is drenched in sweat and besmudged with the soil from the tourney field. A shirt, the same color and likely the same piece of leather as the pants, is slung over his shirt. His clothing is very rustic in appearance, with a definate handmade feel. His dark blond hair is plastered to the sides of his face. Despite the fact that he looks like he was dragged by a horse, he was a lift to his step that screams that he's on top of the world.

Continuing along and stopping to look at one of the hedge sculptures for a bit, Densoric turns aside at the sound of steps, ice-blue eyes which shows a close relation to Ariana Larent for anyone who regularly sees her eyes. Noting the mess of a man approaching from the direction of the arena, Densoric asks casually, "Did you win then?" likely judging by the spring in the step.

There is an almost deliriously happy grin stretched across his lips. Taryn looks at the source of the question. At first he notices the clothing, suggesting that he is attached to one of the noble houses, and then the similarities to Ariana. He stops on his heels, before offering a bow towards the noble. "M'lord… " Despite the resemblance, he offers the man a smile, "Well, my opponent was the horse… and she finally yielded… so yes."

Densoric says, "As you say, though if it was an unarmed wrestling match you'd have my respect."

Taryn looks at Densoric, covered in sweat and dirt. His over shirt draped over his shoulder, as he looks at Densoric, who is bedecked in the dark turquise and cyan of House Larent. He grins, "Trust me, a wrestlin' match would have been more pleasant… The Lady Soleil's steed is extremely temperamental. But… no too much…"

Densoric nods and asks, "Lady Soleil of the royal House correct?" as though confirming the right person.

After her duties with Eilara, meaning they plotted a few tricks on her brothers, Lorelei's done for the day. Smiling to herself for not getting lost, and making it to the Gardens with any drama, or embarrassment. She's got what appears to be some kind of journal in her hand, and is walking ,looking at the flowers as she goes.

Taryn nods, "Yes, m'lord… She sought to test my skill with horses by charging me to ride her own horse, which has a liking for only her ladyship, and that is partly because Lady Soleil doesn't ever ride her. " His attention flickers past the nobleman to the young woman that has just entered into this section of the garden.

Densoric nods and asks, "Why would she make such a request, is she concerned for the horse's health or ability to still be ridden?"

Lorelei glances from the flowers to around the garden. Eyes landing on the two talking. She'll give a head tilt at Taryn's condition, but he seems happy about it, so she'll just give him a hesitant smile.

Taryn smirks slightly, "Partially to see if I am truly as good as I claim to be… and to see if I am worthy to work in the royal stables… " He pauses, "Though, quite honestly, I think that there is another reason… one that only Lady Soleil knows…. If even she knows…" He offers a grin in Lorelei's direction and a slight nod of the head.

Densoric nods and says, "I suppose noblewomen do have odd thoughts at times. Have you been in service of the family long?" he does glance back as Taryn nods but says nothing to Lorelei as of yet.

Lorelei's smile brightens at Taryn's grin and she'll start making her way over, but slows when she realizes he's talking with a Lord. Unsure if she should interrupt, she'll bite her lower lip and glance again at the flowers.

Taryn reaches and brushes the hair from his face. "Um… well.. actually I am not.. not yet at least… I had to actually break the horse in order to be considered for the job… Though Lady Sophie has assured me that if Lady Soleil does not want me, she would gladly take me into her retinue…" Two royal cousins competing for the service of a country bumpkin stable boy, he must be one amazing stable boy.

Densoric nods and says, "Not a bad deal for a citizen no. I only recently had the chance to speak at length with lady Sophie myself."

Lorelei narrows her eye slightly, probably shouldn't be close enough to hear. Not a good idea. She'll look down to the book in her hand, considering where to go to write. Not a novel about anyone. She'll look back at the two and give them both a nod and smile if they should look and start walking further into the gardens. It's big enough. Maybe she can just get lost in it for awhile.

Taryn ponders his choice of words, "Lady Sophie is … a very interesting person." Yeah, that is reasonably diplomatic. He then straightens up, "I am sorry, m'lord, I have been very impolite… I am Taryn Wystrel… " He quirks a brow as Lorelei chooses to walk away. The corner of his lips turn downward a touch.

Densoric nods and says, "lord Densoric Larent. And no need to be diplomatic, I am not one to speak out against the royal family you can feel free to speak freely around me." He then looks back to see the departing Lorelei, he doesn't appear to be in favor or against her joining or leaving, more seemingly giving her the freedom to do as she pleases. Whether it was within his power to command her or not.

Lorelei catches the eyebrow quirk from Taryn, and shakes her head slightly. She begin to mouth something to the effect of not wanting to bother them, but who knows if Taryn can understand. And then Densoric is looking back and she's been spotted. She'll sigh softly, more to herself. How can she be so quiet and unnoticed in the forest, but always stick out like a sore thumb anywhere else. She'll smile apologetic to Densoric as she walks up, "Pardon me my lord for interrupting."She'll give Taryan a look, "Are you alright Taryan?"

"M'lord… I have found Lady Sophie to be quite the free spirit, and one that I cannot begin to understand." The Valen stable boy grins slightly, "And it is a pleasure, Lord Densoric Larent… " Taryn's eyes move to Lorelei and that grin widens further, "And this is Miss Lorelei Quellton.. I understand that she is quite the budding poetess… " That grins turns positively devious, "I believe she is planning on writing an entire cycle on a certain Valen man… very handsome and charming." The way he scrunches his nose with withheld laughter might suggest this being some kind of inside joke between the two… or not.

Densoric nods to Lorelei and says, "You are forgiven." simply in a tone implying passive acceptance. Looking to Taryn as he gives introductions then returns a simple nod once more to Lorelei and says, "If its an accurate enough account it may prove an interesting read then." simply.

Lorelei's eyes widen slightly. she wonders a moment if she could just throw her book at Taryan, how much of an etiquette breach that would be? Her cheeks pinker some, "I'm thinking it's going to be a very curt sonnet, if anything. The accuracy may depend on my treatment. A poet's weapon is her pen, after all." Giving her full attention to Densoric, "It is a pleasure to met you, m'lord."

Taryn chuckles slightly. "I was joking about the last bit, m'lord Densoric, but I was quite serious about thinking Miss Lorelei being quite talented." He grins, "She also can swing a book like a knight wields a sword…. of that I am quite certain…"

Densoric nods and says, "The pen is the weapon of many, at least when used properly. But that can be said of any form of weapon really." He then looks to Taryn and says, "good to know, though I admit I'm not as much of a fan of the literary art." looking back to add, "Nothing personal of course." before looking more between the two as best as possible concluding, "I favor natural beauty, portraits, sculpture, and the like."

Lorelei's cheeks just stay pink at this point. Although she does give Taryn a slightly disbelieving look. A knight, really? The corners of her lips upturn slightly, but she'll try to focus on Densoric's words. She'll tilt he rheas slightly, "I'd like to think you've just not found the right literary arts then. " She'll smile softly, "When a poem is done right, it is visual, and can steal your breath as surly as any painting."

Once Lorelei's scowl turns into a grin, even an unwilling one, Taryn smiles with a pleased grin. He nods in somewhat of an agreement with Densoric, "I'm not really the book type either… but I do appreciate beauty when it presents itself."

Densoric says, "I've read some good pieces, at least in my opinion, I am simply more prone to visual arts. Besides its hard to compete with the natural beauty of untamed nature, especially with floral growth is in abundance."

Lorelei gives a very serious nod to Densoric, "My most important pieces were written in the Arboren forrest, I can understand that." Another glance to Taryn and a small shake of her head, although the smile's back, "I will bring you something to read. You'll like it."

Taryn gives a slight shrug, "I'll give it a try… " He smirks slightly, "Besides if I end up accepting the job in the Sauveur stables, then I'm sure Lady Soleil would certainly appreciate me becomin' more… cultured." If he accepts it, what citizen would not accept such an offer.

Densoric says, "With all due respect, if I was going to the Arboren forest, I'd rather enjoy the landscape and views." casually. He then looks to Taryn and says, "I suppose that would depend on what duties you will be expected to perform." casually.

Lorelei's smile drops. It's hard to tell if it's from what Taryn or Densoric said, but she'll look down to her book. She'll keep quiet, running finger over the edge of her book. Maybe she should have just kept walking.

Taryn blinks slightly at Densoric's comment. "Mainly tending to the horses, m'lord." His tone is more bewildered than anything… He would never imagine that anyone such as Soleil would ever even consider him a worthy companion.

Turning his ice-blue eyes to Lorelei Densoric says, "Have no fear of me, you may speak freely with me about anyone, none will hear of it from me." He then nods to Taryn and says, "Simple tasks are easier. Hopefully you won't be involved in breeding the horse as well, I doubt that would be a very enjoyable task." that must have been what he meant…

Lorelei glances up to the two men, she should really just stay in Arboren. She'll force a small smile, "I should be leaving. My Lady only gave me a bit of time to wander." She'll give a small bow to Densoric and turn to Taryan, "I'll….see you around." The smile she gives him is just as forced, and her cheeks a touch more flushed. She'll quickly and quietly make her way out the garden.

Taryn looks at Densoric, "In my experience, the horses rarely need help in that matter… Nature generally leads them to that natural conclusion…" He shrugs, "Besides, I grew up on a ranch that bred destriers for the chivalry… It would not be the first time should my duties require." He smiles, "Personally I prefer to break the horses and teach them to bear their riders…" He watches Lorelei depart abruptly. He looks at Densoric, "If you would excuse me, m'lord… there is something that I need to tend to." He of course awaits the noble to dismiss him or at least long enough to give the appearance of waiting for it."

Densoric nods and returns to his stroll through the gardens.
