Klaudea Morrigan

Barracks Volkan, The Crescent
At the base of the Blackspyre are several floors of barracks, training facilities, armories, and cafeterias, all built to house the defenders of House Khournas in rough comfort. Soldiers are bunked in rooms each large enough to sleep 50, with lockers and desks alongside each bed. Deep within the barracks levels, close to the training areas, are communal bathhouses, some set aside for single-sex use and others open to members of both sexes. There, the soldiers and nobles of House Khournas can soak away the aches of a hard day's labor. The corridors are all narrow enough that two soldiers could hold them against a tide, except those leading from assembly areas to great doors that open to the exterior surface of Volkan, allowing the soldiers of House Khournas to march out already in formation if need be.

A message to Morrigan informs him that Klaudea will be unable to meet him to spar this afternoon. She's broken her hand, and is unable to use it for a few days, so she will probably be resting around the barracks.

Having gotten the message, Morrigan makes his way through the nexus to Volkan. Dressed in his traveling clothes, he doesn't look the part of a soldier as he hunts for the barracks

The barracks are fairly easy to find, but what makes them easier to find is the girl with the brunette ponytail and a shopping bag hanging loosely by its strings from from the fingers of her left hand. A sling can be seen wrapped around her neck and along the back of her right elbow.

Moving towards the barracks, Morrigan falls in step with the brunette girl and speaks softly "Want a hand with your bags?"

The hazel eyes light up at the soft voice next to her. Normally, Klaudea would politely decline with the assertion that she can manage, in this case she smiles and lifts the shopping bags, "thank you, Morrigan." The bags are pretty light, containing some snacks and electrical components.

Taking the bags, Morrigan smiles but refrains from the usual kiss on the cheek in light of being at her barracks. "How is the hand? And arm?"

Leading the way to her own bunk, Klaudea shrugs the healthy shoulder. "It's fine. Well, not /fine/. The long bones in my hand are cracked, but at least not completely broken, so that's good. The arm is fine. I actually only got hit a couple times before he went down." She looks up as she turns to sit on her bunk, backing up against the headboard and leaving room next to her. "How are you?"

Shrugging slightly, Morrigan grins. I'm good, and reminding myself not to mess with you in a Melee. You break your hand. I get skewered.

A little laugh greets his observation. "I'm beginning to think that we all have invisible targets on us somewhere that only Hostiles can see. You have one on your stomach, Brother Shadow has one on his neck, I have one on my hand." She winks. "We just have to figure out how to move yours to a place that doesn't endanger your vital organs."

Considering that for a moment, Morrigan chuckles. "That or get extra armor." Looking around briefly, and seeing no one around at the moment, he leans in and brushes his lips against her cheek, just catching the corner of her lips. "You're well aside from that?"

Klaudea smiles at the quick kiss, trying to turn and catch the retreating cheek with her own lips. Leaning her shoulder against his, her uninjures fingers scratch absently at the edges of her cast. "Mostly."

Nodding slightly, Morrigan chuckles. "The long bones can be tricky." Smiling as he feels her lean against him, he adds "I brought my tea set if you'd like some." This last said with a wink.

Laughing, Klaudea leans her head back against the wall. "Tea party in the barracks." She opens her eyes as she rolls her head slightly to see if anyone is listening. "I think I need a different knight," she says quietly, leaning her head closer. "But how does one say they don't want to be squired to The Wall?"

Considering that for a moment, Morrigan just shrugs. "I think you just did. I'm afraid I don't know protocol on this though."

An elbow nudges Morrigan's side. "You know what I mean." She smiles to him. "I had a long talk with Sir Anabethe the other day. And she took me with her on the rescue mission, so at least I won't be in trouble for that."

Nodding, Morrigan can't help but grin. "Aside from standing me up at the gym you mean?" Still though there's no rancor in his voice despite the statement.

"I'm sorry," Klaudea says quietly. Looking down at her hands, she curls her fingers to keep from scratching. "I'll do my best to make it up to you, later. I promise. "

Frowning slightly, Morrigan looks around once more quickly before leaning in and touching his lips to hers. Just like the kiss to the cheek, this is more of a lingering touch more than a kiss before he speaks softly. "I was just teasing you Klaudea. If I was really upset about it, I wouldn't have come here to see that you're alright."

Klaudea freezes in surprise at the touch of his lips on hers. When he reassures her quietly, she looks down again. Her shoulde against his shakes a little, and she bites down on her lips as they start to curve in a smile. She peeks up at him from the corner of her eyes, the hazel sparkling.

Raising an eyebrow, Morrigan tilts his head slightly. "Was I too forward?"

Her head falls back against the wall, and now Klaudea really is giggling. "I /know/ you're not upset," she replies. "I was teasing you… But," she looks up again, her cheeks turning bashfully pink. "I liked the result."

Grinning himself, Morrigan nods, "So did I. And you are really very cute when you blush." Deciding to take advantage of the moment with her head against the walk, he leans in and touches his lips to hers again. Still just barely a kiss, though his lips part slightly, the tip of his tongue touching across her bottom lip gently.

Well, telling her she looks cute when she blushes is just going to make it happen more. When he leans again, her uninjured hand comes to his shoulder, resting lightly there. Her lips almost press against his before he's leaning back again. "I've never kissed a guy before," she admits, her voice almost inaudible.

Shrugging slightly, Morrigan smiles. "Then I suppose we could learn together. Not going to lie, I liked the first try."

Klaudea's surprise shows in the raised eyebrows as her eyes open a little wider. "You haven't, either?" Her hand slips from his shoulder and down his arm, wrapping inside his elbow to find his hand. "I would like that. Maybe not in the barracks… It was nice."

Chuckling, Morrigan nods. Yeah. Maybe not in the barracks. And no, I haven't either."

The smile at Morrigan's chuckle lingers for a bit before she sobers. "I think I should take some flowers or something the Mistress Storm."

Leaning on the wall himself now, Morrigan raises an eyebrow. "Oh? Is she sick?

"Mistress Storm is the woman we went to rescue. She was hit pretty bad in the chest during the fight and Brother Shadow races her to the nearest outpost. I think she is back home, now." She leans her head against his shoulder. "I don't know what I'm going to say."

Considering that, Morrigan clears his throat softly. "I'd start with Get well soon, and go from there Hun."

Klaudea nods. "She hurt Brother Shadow so badly," she murmurs. "I'm sure she knows that I know that. To say it's going to be awkward is… Mild?"

Nodding, Morrigan considers this again for a long moment. "Are you angry with her?"

"I'm not sure what I am," she admits. "I don't understand how you can hurt someone you love like that." Her fingers unconsciously twine with his as she speaks. "I mean, even if you do think they're leaving you, they're still the only person you want, right? How do you just… Have sex with someone else?"

Shrugging slightly as he gently squeezes her fingers, Morrigan sighs. "People do wired things. Though I don't understand that one either."

"And seeing Brother Shadow so hurt… It kind of hurt me, too." Klaudea looks down at their hands, then back up to Morrigan. "Do you believe that people /have/ to pay for what they've done? If they feel bad and try to do right, is that enough?"

Thinking about that for a moment. Morrigan finally shrugs. "I think it depends. If there's true remorse and an honest effort to try to do right, then usually they end paying for what they did wrong anyways.

Klaudea nods. "I think that it's usually the people who /aren't/ remorseful that never end up paying. Which isn't really fair, when you think about it." She shifts, pushing to the edge of the bed. "Let's go for a walk. I know some nice gardens. Think about something nice." Maybe even do a little something nice.

Nodding, Morrigan smiles, offering his arm to her and leaving the leading to her. "You're right. Though I am a believer in Karma. Eventually , everyone pays."

There's a little frown of doubt at the assertion that everyone pays, but she doesn't argue. Klaudea starts to take his arm, but then some voices remind her of something and she drops it as she turns another direction. "I haven't told him about me, yet," she explains, giving Morrigan a mischievous smile and a jerk of her head to lead him a different direction, towards the training rings.

Looking confused for a moment, Morrigan follows quietly before replying "what haven't you told who about you?"

"You'll see," Klaudea replies, with a delighted smile. Looking over the training mats, she points to where a stripling lad, his long limbs and spare muscles a tribute to a recent growth spurt, works with an older mountain of a knight.

Grinning as he sees the boy, Morrigan finds a handy wall to lean on. "When do you plan to let him know?"

"When I'm allowed to go again," Klaudea replies, a little disquiet showing on her face. "I sent him my first set of training weapons, and I'm repainting my old armor so it won't be recognizable as mine when it comes from Blue Sister." She shakes her head with a little smile. "But if he keeps growing like this, he'll outgrow my old armor pretty quickly. So… I'll either have to get my spurs pretty quick so I can buy him armor, or find a way to convince Papa to sponsor a kid of one his factory workers."

Nodding quietly, Morrigan smiles slightly. "I have him a pair of my daggers as well. He has potential with blades.

"Thank you," the words are soft spoken, and once again there's a suspicious bright shimmer in the squire's eyes, as there was Sir Anabethe seemed so sure that Phelan would be taken on. "Thank you for helping him when I couldn't be there." She gives a blink of her eyes, then jerks her head towards the exit. "Let's go for that walk, shall we?"

Nodding, Morrigan smiles. "He was important to you. Thus important to me." Motioning her to lead the way, Mr. Wolf smiles once more.
