Gardens of Erkwin
While the Arborenin may like their greenery wild and lush, the Gardens of Erkwin are carefully and precisely manicured, even if they are no less green for all the attention they have received at the clippers of gardening drones. Broad expanses of grass are trimmed to exactly the same height, grown to exactly the same verdant shade. Hedges are neatly clipped back into exacting shapes. Some form mythical creatures, others living statues of famous historical figures, and one section even rises in geometric patterns to create a hedge maze. Between the hedges and lining paths of crushed gravel are beds full of flowers from all over Imperius — and before that, from all over Old Earth.

As beautiful as the gardens are, however, all of the paths lead through them toward the stadium on the water's edge. A final parade of flags draws the attention of most onlookers up toward the bulbous blue shape of the stadium's half-roof, which is lit from within by the glow of the lights when a tournament is taking place or a soccer game being played.

Keanen wanders off into the gardens, annoyed by how things just played out. He kicks the dirt path, and then angrily growls, tossing his still human arm about and then spraying a circular ball of lightning about three feet around off at a chunk of grass. The grass scorches as the popping crackle of electricity chars it. He sighs, and runs his cybernetic hand through his long hair.

"Keanen?" Ellinor Sauveur asks, standing several meters behind him. Her hands are shoved in the pockets of her greatcoat, those fire-touched locks whispering around her shoulders in a soft, incoming breeze. She glances toward the chuck of grass he has thrashed, and she arches up a brow. "I don't think the grass necessarily deserved that," she points out in her usual dryness, and then she drops her shoulders with a bit of a sigh. "Though, I guess it'll probably be good as new tomorrow, anyway."

Keanen huffs, and turns to look at Ellinor. He blushes, and stands a bit straighter, his human left hand fingers twitching slightly. "Lady Sauveur." He lifts his chin a bit, "I'm… I'm sorry, I thought I was alone. I um…" He glances at the charred earth, and then purses his lips, looking back at Ellinor. "Ariana likes to press buttons. I'm sorry."

"I think you would have to go all the way into the heart of the Arborenin Woods to be truly alone," Ellinor remarks as she slowly advances, looking down at the scorched earth. "Lets me honest with each other, Keanen… we are going to be in an apology circle soon if we keep apologizing for this whole… well, clusterfuck." The Knight glances over at him. "I didn't mean to be… cruel." She shrugs her shoulders a bit.

Keanen nods, "I know. Sometimes we are what we are, even when meaning different." It's not said with malice, but rather, understanding. He swallows, "I've had a difficult week. Ariana and I have been friends for years, and I vented to her. It wasn't meant to be anything more. She likes putting people in a spot, and… well…" He shrugs, and rubs his eyes.

"She does it very well," Ellinor says as she arches her brows high over her eyes. Then she glances over toward him, offering him a bit of a smile. "I think she might like you though," she offers. "She may have put us both on the spot to… well… girls do really weird things when we like someone."

Keanen purses his lips, and shakes his head a bit, "I don't think so…" He turns to face Ellinor more properly. "And even if she did, you said yourself, I'm only eighteen." He shakes his head a little, "I don't know that I'm a relationship kind of guy yet." His cybernetic hand closes, "I have issues. Juvenile ones," he smirks.

Ellinor offers a bit of a smirk in return. "I didn't mean it like that…" Okay, she probably did, but you should never believe what a half-Khournas says in anger. She turns a bit toward him too. "I'd say… let it come naturally. You'll find a girl who just loves you the second she lays eyes on you." She grins a bit then. "You got the right hair for that."

Keanen smiles at the last, "See. I knew you liked me." He's teasing, but he tosses her a wink, just the same. He walks over to her, and if she allows, he takes her hands in his. "I'm sorry Ariana made this more awkward than it already was. You are a beautiful knight and I'm certain one day I'll be very honored to attend when you wed someone equally deserving. Fresh beginning?"

Ellinor softens a bit as she takes her hands, and she even gives them a squeeze — though she is never sure if that sort of feel is passed through his cybernetic grip. "Hey… I'm still promising to hook you up with one my sisters if you want." She offers him a bit of a lopsided smile before she offers a nod. "Fresh beginning."

Keanen chuckles, "If your younger sister is half the spit-fire Lyrienne is, I'm not sure I could handle her." He smiles wider, and nods. "So…" He tilts his head a bit as he releases her hands, "Are you interested in Sir Nikomachos? Or just friends? I mean, accepting my offer just to get a rise from him leaves me curious."

Ellinor narrows her eyes a bit, thought it is done in good-nature at his question. "Ah… just friends." There is a soft pink that colors her cheeks though. "We have spoken about more, but… our families would rush such a match and we want to take it slower." She smirks a bit. "You may laugh now."

Keanen smiles, but doesn't laugh. "Just because I prefer the adventure of short, intense relationships doesn't mean I can't appreciate you wishing to take it at the speed you desire. Families are often impatient because of political gain." He shrugs, "I hope you get what you want."

"Yeah," Ellinor says after a moment before she offers him another wider grin. "I hope you do too." Then she looks over toward the tournament grounds as an explosion of cheers are heard from inside. She then casts him a glance. "Fifty bucks that one of the Valens just won."

Keanen laughs, "I don't bet on tourneys. I find them to be kind of obnoxious." Indeed, as an awakened, he could have competed. "I have no need for that kind of attention or self gratification." He shrugs, "Regardless, you should go back. I'm sure Nikomachoman would like it very much if you were seated near him, Sir."

Ellinor laughs before she casts him a wide, almost devilish grin. "Oh, I need it." And she winks. Then she nods her head gently, giving his shoulder a squeeze. "Don't worry about the grass." And she starts to step away to head back for the stadium.

"I wasn't going to," Keanen offers in return, playfully. He shifts his weight to one leg, watching her backside as she walks away. He smiles, nods to himself, and then heads the other direction.
