Background
Delphi Nicolo was born on Imperius under House Ibrahm to citizen doctors who both served in the military as medics. It was without a surprise that the girl wanted to follow in her parents footsteps from a young age, displaying such a desire as she played doctor with her dolls and stuffed animals serving as patients. Time not spent pretending to patch up her toys' various 'boo-boos' was spent with her mother who taught her how to quilt, cook and garden while her father taught her the basics of knife-use and horseback riding. Delphi even took up singing as a hobby and participated in choir at school.
After her primary and secondary education was concluded she went to medical school. In her third year of residency she met a fellow resident, a man by the name of Andrew Brodrick. They fell in love quickly and were married only several months afterward. Sadly their happiness would be short lived when they were caught in a collapsed building just shy of two years into their marriage. Andrew was killed immediately while Delphi was trapped for about eight hours, severely wounded. She endured several operations that saved her life but did nothing to restore the full use of her right leg or allow her to remain able to have children. The rehabilitation was painful and long but nowhere near as painful as the loss of her husband, the absence of whom was keenly felt. Once back on her feet she returned to the hospital, still a resident. Her leg in a brace, the young doctor to be used her experiences as motivation and eventually chose trauma medicine and surgery as her specialty. Delphi petitioned a court and was allowed to use her maiden name during this time, that being the final step in her spiritual healing.
Several years passed before the start of the war, the many months honing the young doctor into a brilliant surgeon. Realizing that she'd be needed, Delphi volunteered her services, willing to act as a medic as did her mother and father before her.
