Background
I was born on one of the Iles of Terra twenty seven years ago, the night was dark and tumultuous, a tropical storm approaching from off shore and I came into this world as fierce as the storm raging outside.
Life wasn't always so tumultuous, childhood on the Islands of Terran was better than most could hope for, a tropical paradise, beaches, beauties, sailing surfing and all manner of diversions to be found. I was educated growing up.. History, sciences, literature, the normal things, and I was quite a rising star in the volleyball circuits, joining the men's doubles league when I turned eighteen, and I was well on my way to be signed to the mixed-doubles league, it was inevitable really, but I walked away from all of that to go to landing and join the watch and help make the world a better place? hah.
The training period was not something I was all that thrilled about, I came to the realization that I was not very good with authority and I didn't always agree with methodology used by the Watch, which caused a lot of extra pain and work for me, and a bit of amusement, and frustration from those teaching me. A couple years after joining the watch I found myself involved in a rather sensational case, you probably remember it. The Bollar Street Butcher, he'd been cutting up women on the west end and we thought we'd had him, the inspectors put out an arrest order. It was a case of mistaken identity, some street tough. The arrest was a debacle, ended up with our perp injured and an innocent bystander killed from a crossbow bolt from our thug. And you know the worst thing? The Bollar Street butcher struck again later that night. He's never been caught yet.
I was fed up with the Watch after this and it showed, I took to drinking more, and got into verbal 'discussions' with my superior about the botched job. Between my declining performance, my insubordination, and my troubled past with the watch, it was decided that I was no longer welcome to wear the uniform, and unceremoniously dismissed. In the wake, I was at a bit of a loss, returning to the volleyball circuit seemed unlikely, and I was jaded and still drinking heavily so I ended up taking a job as a private investigator in the civilian sector.
I had already had some experience with electronic systems in the watch, and previously as a child, but it became more of a job requirement in the private sector. We don't have the house resources to decrypt data, or communications, and you have to be a bit more creative. I've become quite good and a bit unorthodox in my uses of technology in the five years since leaving the watch.
Much of my work revolves around investigating cases of infidelity for disgruntled couples who want to divorce, going through people's financials, doing quasi corporate espionage and barely managing to pay the rent on my office. Beggars can't be choosers in this market, right? I do what I can when it comes to investigating actual crimes, something of a licensed vigilante, I suppose, and I still have the hope of one day catching the Bollar Street Butcher? But enough of that, so you want me to keep tabs on your daughter and see of that Jameson boy tries coming around her, yeah?
